Weather: As of 8am it is -6.6° in front of the Tourist Office.
With our cold temperatures and cloud loaded skies, we are expecting a little more snow in higher altitude to add to the 50cm we recieved in the last 36h. Temperatures will range between -1° at 1000m, -10° at 2000m, and -16° at 3000m. This cold is hightened by the Bise winds that will increase throughout the day.

Tonight, the dry/cold weather is back as the clouds begin to dissipate, dropping temperatures to -6° in the valley, -13° at 2000m, and -18° at 3000m.

Tomorrow will be a beautiful sunny day with postcard views and Canadian temperatures. Some snowflakes are expected in the afternoon as the clouds return and remain into the night. Heavy winds expected in higher altitude.

Over 15,000 cars were stuck on the roads yesterday after 20 to 30cm fell on the roads between Chambéry and Val d'Isère. (View photo)

Today the roads have been cleared and running slow but normal. Cars are expected to have snowchains though 4x4s with 4 snow tyres will be allowed to circulate. Please be careful out there.

Val d'Isère will not be hosting any additional FIS world cups this year as Zagrab, Croatia has also benefited from the snow covering the mountain regions in Europe.

Ski Report:
We have recieved up to 50cm of snow in higher altitude in the last 36 hours. As such, the pisteurs have determined the risk of avalanche to be at a 4/5 so please make sure you stay on piste.

The pistes will open progressively today as the pisteurs must secure each piste before giving acces to the public.
